چکیده

Given a number of Extended Chebyshev (EC) spaces on adjacent intervals, all of the same dimension, we join them via convenient connection matrices without increasing the dimension. The global space is called a Piecewise Extended Chebyshev (PEC) Space. In such a space one can count the total number of zeroes of any non-zero element, exactly as in each ECsection-space. When this number is bounded above in the global space the same way as in its section-spaces, we say that it is an Extended Chebyshev Piecewise (ECP) space. A thorough study of ECP-spaces has been developed in the last two decades in relation to blossoms, with a view to design. In particular, extending a classical procedure for EC-spaces, ECP-spaces were recently proved to all be obtained by means of piecewise generalised derivatives. This yields an interesting constructive characterisation of ECP-spaces. Unfortunately, except for low dimensions and for very few adjacent intervals, this characterisation proved to be rather difficult to handle in practice. To try to overcome this difficulty, in the present article we show how to reinterpret the constructive characterisation as a theoretical procedure to determine whether or not a given PEC-space is an ECP-space. This procedure is then translated into a numerical test, whose usefulness is illustrated by relevant examples.

Geometrically continuous piecewise quasi Chebyshevian splines

Quasi extended Chebyshev spaces (QEC-spaces for short) represent the largest class of spaces of sufficient regularity which are suitable for design [1]. In particular, they contain the well-known extended Chebyshev spaces as a special instance (and therefore can represent transcendental functions) as well as the so called variable degree polynomial spaces [2], that are very effective in handlin...

Control point based exact description of curves and surfaces, in extended Chebyshev spaces

Extended Chebyshev spaces that also comprise the constants represent large families of functions that can be used in real-life modeling or engineering applications that also involve important (e.g. transcendental) integral or rational curves and surfaces. Concerning computer aided geometric design, the unique normalized B-bases of such vector spaces ensure optimal shape preserving properties, i...

The Petrov-Galerkin Method and Chebyshev Multiwavelet Basis for Solving Integro-Differential Equations

Abstract: There are some methods for solving integro-differential equations. In this work, we solve the general-order Feredholm integro-differential equations. The Petrov-Galerkin method by considering Chebyshev multiwavelet basis is used. By using the orthonormality property of basis elements in discretizing the equation, we can reduce an equation to a linear system with small dimension. For ...

Applying original and existing theoretical results, we propose a platform-independent multi-threaded function library that provides data structures to generate, differentiate and render both the ordinary basis and the non-negative normalized B-basis of an arbitrary extended Chebyshev (EC) space that comprises the constants and can be identified with the solution space of a user-defined constant...
